The age old tradition of women hand harvesting seaweed.

A little piece of Ireland’s Atlantic Coast

The gift in your hands was made in West Cork using Irish seaweed, sustainably hand-harvested from the pristine waters of Bantry Bay and I would love this opportunity to tell you a little more about what we do here and why we do it.

From the sea, by hand
For generations, seaweed has been part of life along Ireland’s coast — gathered for food, bathing, traditional skin remedies and the land. It was almost always the woman of the house who tended to this. It came second only to the potatoes and children (in that order).
Now here we are bringing some of those traditions into modern skincare. We use only sustainably hand-harvest seaweed from our Irish shores and use it to create our skincare in small batches at our workshop in West Cork.
No mass production. No seaweed shipped halfway around the world. Just beautiful, simple skincare made with one of Ireland’s most extraordinary natural resources.

The soap you received
Our handmade seaweed soap is made using Irish seaweed together with coconut and extra virgin olive oils. It is made without artificial hardeners, creating a wonderfully gentle soap that can be used on the face and body We hope that every time you use it, it brings a little reminder of Ireland’s wild Atlantic coast.
